The Problem
On the continent of Africa there is a lack of access to mental health care and resources for families who are in crisis. This is true for your average family but is especially true for families who work in the missional and disaster relief world.
Often, in volunteer organizations, the flourishing of missionaries and their families is far less of a priority than the work itself. In this setting, workers are seen more as an expendable resource to throw at the problem, than they are valuable assets that need to be sustainably stewarded.
Because of this there is an epidemic of families in crisis. Incidents of divorce, suicide, depression, and addiction are at record levels among volunteer and missionary families, who need guidance and tools to navigate the situations they face.
Our Response
Oasis Sanctuaries exists to care for these families. We help fill a need by providing world-class holistic care through a unique hybrid approach where we blend elements of 5 Star level hospitality and rest, with specialized mental health care and marriage restoration offered by licensed care practitioners.
After a week of targeted care, guests walk away with clarified perspective, and first steps toward their healing journey. We also work with them to restore their capacity to dream, and look unto the future, and what comes next.
